Accurate measurements are key to finding garments that fit well. Use a flexible measuring tape and stand in front of a mirror to ensure the tape stays level and snug but not tight. Wear lightweight or form-fitting clothing, or measure directly against the skin for the most precise results.

A. CHEST (Men’s)
Stand up straight with your arms relaxed at your sides.
Wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of your chest, typically just under your armpits and across the shoulder blades, bringing it around to the front over the widest point of your chest.
Keep the tape level all the way around and ensure it’s snug but not restricting.
Breathe naturally—don’t puff out your chest or hold your breath.
Note the measurement in inches.

A. BUST (Women’s)
Stand upright with your arms relaxed at your sides.
Wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of your bust, usually across the nipples and under the arms, ensuring it goes straight across your back.
Make sure the tape is level and not twisted, and sits comfortably against the body without compressing the bust.
Breathe normally and check that the tape remains parallel to the floor.
Take the measurement while standing naturally—don’t pull the tape tight or slouch.

B. WAIST
Locate your natural waistline—this is the narrowest part of your torso, typically just above the belly button and below the ribcage.
Wrap the tape around this area, keeping it level and parallel to the floor.
Relax your stomach (don’t suck in) and stand naturally.
Record the measurement.

C. HIP
Stand with feet together.
Measure around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks, usually about 7–9 inches below the waist, depending on your height.
Make sure the tape is flat and even all the way around.
Take the measurement without pulling the tape tight.

D. INSIDE LEG (INSEAM)
Stand straight, ideally barefoot or in thin socks.
Measure from the top of the inner thigh (at the crotch) down to the ankle bone or your desired trouser length.
It's easiest and most accurate to have someone else take this measurement.
Alternatively, measure a pair of trousers that fit you well in length.

F. OUTSIDE LEG
Measure from the top of your waistband (natural waist) down to the bottom of your ankle or desired hemline.
Keep your leg straight and the tape aligned with the outside of your leg.

E. SLEEVE
Start at the center back of your neck (the base of your collar).
Measure across the top of the shoulder, then down the outside of the arm to the wrist bone.
Keep your arm slightly bent for a more natural fit.
This is often called the “shirt sleeve” or “overarm” measurement.

F. COLLAR
Wrap the tape around the base of your neck, where a shirt collar would sit.
Insert one finger under the tape for comfort and ease.
Take the measurement where the tape meets around the neck.

Tips
It can be helpful to have someone assist you for more accuracy.
Always double-check measurements for consistency.
If you're between sizes, consider the garment’s intended fit (loose, tailored, etc.) before sizing up or down.
