1960's laura ashley rare cream prairie dress

Laura Ashley founded what would become an iconic British brand alongside her husband, Bernard Ashley. After relocating briefly to Kent, they ultimately moved the business to Carno, Wales in 1961. It was there that the Laura Ashley name began appearing on charming aprons and gardening smocks.

The move to Wales marked a turning point, allowing the company to grow into a larger space and invest in more advanced printing equipment. By 1966, they had debuted their first dresses under the Laura Ashley label—garments that echoed a romantic, countryside aesthetic perfectly in tune with the late 1960s’ appetite for nostalgic fashion.

Presenting this 1960's Laura Ashley prairie maxi dress in all it's glory. This stunning dress has a made in wales tag (which means that it was made before they moved production to other locations), made from a heavy quality cream cotton. Features a high neck collar, full skirt and anglais embroidery detailing throughout. has a back zip closure.
